Never Run Out of Ideas: Brainstorm Your Next 10 Posts

Hi, Ben here.

You’ve launched your project and made your first announcement. The excitement is real! 🎉 But then a new kind of panic sets in: the pressure to be consistent. What on earth do you post next? And the day after that?

Coming up with a constant stream of fresh ideas is one of the hardest parts of running any project. Luckily, you don't have to do it alone. You can use AI as your personal brainstorming partner to generate a whole list of content ideas in a matter of minutes.

This recipe will help you create a content plan to keep your project top of mind.

What You'll Need

Step 1: Remind the AI About Your Project

The first step is to give the AI context. What is your project about? Who is it for? Be clear and concise.

Let's stick with our example:

  • My project is a friendly community gardening club in Hartlepool for people of all skill levels.

Step 2: Copy the "Magic" Prompt

This prompt is designed to get a wide variety of post types. It doesn't just ask for "ideas"; it specifically requests tips, questions, and behind-the-scenes content to keep your social media feed interesting.

Copy this entire block of text:

Act as a creative content strategist. My goal is to keep my community engaged on social media.

Please brainstorm a list of 10 social media post ideas for my project. The list should include a mix of practical tips, engaging questions for my audience, and simple behind-the-scenes updates.

My project is: [Describe your project here]

Step 3: Use the Prompt in Claude

  1. Go to the Claude.ai website.
  2. Paste the "Magic" Prompt into the chat box.
  3. Replace the [Describe your project here] part with your own project description from Step 1.
  4. Hit Enter.

Step 4: Get Your Content Plan

The AI will generate a tailored list of ideas you can start using immediately. For our gardening club, it might look something like this:

AI's Brainstorm List:

Here are 10 content ideas for your community gardening club:

  1. 💡 Tip Tuesday: Share a simple weekly tip, like "How to tell when your tomatoes are perfectly ripe."
  2. 🤔 Ask the Community (Question): Post a photo of a plant and ask, "What's your number one tip for keeping pests away from this?"
  3. 🛠️ Project Update (Behind the Scenes): Share a photo of your new compost bin and explain how it will help the club.
  4. 👥 Gardener Spotlight: Briefly interview a member about what they love to grow.
  5. "What's This?" (Question): Post a close-up photo of an unusual leaf or flower and ask your followers to identify it.
  6. 🌱 Quick How-To: A short post explaining how to do one simple task, like "How to properly water seedlings."
  7. 📸 Before & After (Behind the Scenes): Show a picture of a garden bed at the start of the week and again at the end.
  8. 🏆 Tool of the Week: Share a photo of your favourite simple gardening tool and explain why you love it.
  9. 🙋 Ask Us Anything (Question): Announce that you'll answer any beginner gardening questions in the comments.
  10. 💥 Myth Busting: Post a common gardening myth, like "you need a huge garden to grow vegetables," and explain why it isn't true.

You now have a ready-made content plan for the next couple of weeks, ensuring you'll never be stuck for something to post.

Alternative Tools for This Recipe

Brainstorming works well with any chatbot, but each has its strengths:

  • ChatGPT: Great for generating very creative and out-of-the-box ideas if you want something a bit more unusual.
  • Google Gemini: Can be excellent at creating ideas that are timely or tied to seasonal events (e.g., "ideas for winter gardening").
