What this site keeps about you

Very little. dixon.ai is run by me, Ben Dixon, and I keep only what you send me, only for the reason you sent it. I don't sell anything about you, show ads or use tracking cookies. To see or delete what I hold, get in touch and I'll do it.

01what you send

The four places you can give me details

  • The newsletter: your email address goes to Beehiiv, the service that sends Confidently Wrong. It stays until you unsubscribe, with the link in every email.
  • The contact form: your name, email and message reach me by email through Web3Forms, and stay in my inbox as long as the conversation needs.
  • The free check: your website, your email at that website, and your name and kind of business if you give them. I use them to run the check and send you the results, then the request is deleted after 90 days.
  • Stump the six: the question, its source and what the AI said, plus a name if you want credit. Kept for 90 days while it's reviewed; one that makes the tracker is published without your details unless you asked for credit.

02when you visit

Counting visits, without cookies

I count page visits with Umami, which sets no cookies and keeps nothing that identifies you, so there's no cookie banner. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To stop spam, the free check is guarded by Cloudflare Turnstile, and both forms keep a scrambled form of your IP address (the one your device connects from) for about an hour to limit repeat sends. The IP address itself is never stored.

03your say

Seeing, fixing or deleting it

Under UK data protection law you can ask what I hold about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Ask me and I'll answer within a month, usually much sooner. If you're unhappy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
